The December 2008 issue of Elle Girl Japan covered the top 10 beauty items from around the world and Roxanne Rizzo’s Concealer Palette was NUMBER 1!!!

The caption loosely translates to:
Living in NYC, Roxanne Rizzo is a celebrity makeup artist for TV and movies. The cosmetics she developed in the United States are now available in Japan. Roxanne has created many “magical” products such as this mineral concealer foundation that corrects skin blemishes in order to give women a flawless look. As a professional artist, Roxanne understands how harsh makeup could be to the skin, especially to actors and models who wear makeup for long periods of time under heavy lights. Roxanne Rizzo created her mineral makeup line based on her experience as a professional makeup artist.
Self Tanner-Rachael Ray Show
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008Roxanne had the exciting opportunity to work on the set of Lipstick Jungle along with the beautiful Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price. Since many of the beautiful fashion ensembles… well…showed a little skin, Roxanne’s self tanner was just what they needed to enhance the look and give everyone that beautiful healthy bronze glow.
Lindsay loved the self tanner so much, she had this to say about it when asked on Rachel Ray what her favorite product used on set was:
“Calm can be tough to find as they film the show in New York City, and portray the lives of busy high-power executives. The roles come with sexy wardrobes, and cast member Lindsay Price says she wants her skin to look sun kissed for the slinky fashions. “When I first came here they sent me to a tanning place where you stand completely naked,” Lindsay says. After that experience, she found Roxanne Rizzo’s Self Tanner as a suitable replacement. “This I can do in the privacy of my own dressing room or shower which is genius, because I really don’t enjoy being naked in front of others … unless it’s for fun”
I think we can all relate with Lindsay’s experience. Instance Bronze can be used in the privacy of your own home and only take a few minutes. It has a great scent, so it’s perfect to use right after the shower. You can make it part of your everyday beauty regimen. And may we all look as wonderful as the ladies on Lipstick Jungle!!!

Roxanne Rizzo’s Clean Palette featured in Japanese Beauty Magazine “CREA”
Roxanne Rizzo launched her cosmetics line in Japan during the Spring of 2007. Japanese consumers are acutely aware and in tune with the benefits that mineral makeup provides to the face. Care and hygiene of the skin is most important to them, which is why they loved that Roxanne built her line around the same premises and values.
Not only do they love Roxanne’s cosmetics, but they appreciate and learn from her style and techniques. Roxanne visits Tokyo and surrounding cities once a year for numerous weeks just to train consumers and visit with hundreds of students at makeup schools. One such technique that is greatly admired in Asia is to always start with a ‘clean canvas’ — Roxanne has created a product that assists a consumer to do just that.
Since care of the face is always priority, Roxanne takes the time to properly cleanse and moisturize the face before beginning any makeup application. Only once the face is cleansed from impurities can she observe her canvas and recognize any imperfections, such as blemishes or under eye discoloration. Roxanne’s “Clean Palette” package includes color corrections which should be used first in order to conceal blemishes and even out the face. If the blemish is red you use a concealer with a more yellow tint and if the blemish is purple or blue, most often found under the eye, use a concealer with an orange-peach tone in order to correct. A common mistake in makeup application is using a lighter color concealer under the eye, which will only highlight the under eye circle and make it more pronounced. Once the color corrections are made you will use the concealer in your natural skin tone to go over these blemished areas and blend them into your natural skin shade. If you prefer fuller coverage, you can use a thin layer of the concealer all over the face, much like you would use a foundation, for a more dramatic evening look that still looks natural.
Just like a true artist, once the palette is clean and even, you can begin to work with color and textures to complete your look. The clean palette is used in Asia by women and men alike. Many consumers use this as a first step in their beauty process, while some will apply some lip gloss and use it as their only step to accomplish a natural no fuss look.

July 10, 2008 – Roxanne Cosmetics Featured on Japanese Radio Station
On July 10, 2008, a well known Radio Station in Japan, Tokyo FM, invited Roxanne and company to be a special guest on their show called “Tapestry“. The radio show is well known in Tokyo for conducting celebrity interviews and is hosted by well known radio host, Akiko Nishito.
Akiko has been a DJ since college and has her own Jazz CD, ‘If you go away.’ The radio show which aired for 2 hours, dedicated 15 minutes to a personal interview about Roxanne and her new cosmetic line. Akiko was curious to hear what American celebrities Roxanne worked with in the Status and why she created the Roxanne Rizzo line of natural cosmetics. Roxanne explained the important role that care of the skin played in creating this line. But as a union makeup artist in film and TV she couldn’t afford to compromise on colors and shades needed for high end fashion and beauty.

Before the show started Roxanne applied Akiko’s makeup, and Akiko explains her experience to her listeners and emphasizes ‘that the makeup feels so light on her face.’ Roxanne takes time to discuss in detail the “Concealer Palette” product which includes corrector and color concealers. Japanese women (and men alike) love this product because it first corrects any imperfections in the skin before preparing the face for color cosmetics.
Three lucky listeners were given a Roxanne Rizzo cosmetic package consisting of concealer palette, translucent powder and makeup brushes.
How to make a clean canvas
Friday, October 24th, 2008
Step 1- Essential Oil Spray
Always clean your face before any makeup application. Use Essential Oils Spray to moisturize and stimulate the skin. The Essential Oils will stimulate circulation which will bring blood to the surface giving you that natural healthy glow. This process is hygienic because you never have to touch the face, and it’s gentle because there is no rubbing. Essential Oil is good for all skin types but especially appreciated by sensitive skin. Simply hold bottle 6-12 inches from face and spray.
Step 2- Color Correction using “Concealer Palette“
Before applying your natural skin tone concealer you must color correct any blemishes if present. If the blemish is red use a concealer with a more yellow tint and if the blemish is purple or blue, most often found under the eye, use a concealer with an orange-peach tone in order to correct. A common mistake in makeup application is using a lighter color concealer under the eye, however this will only highlight the under eye circle and make it more pronounced.

Once the color corrections are made, you will use the concealer in your natural skin tone to go over these blemished areas and blend them into your natural skin shade. In order to find the best concealer for you, try different colors until you find the one where you cannot the see the difference between the applied shade and your natural skin. Apply the concealer by patting it on problem areas using a synthetic concealer brush. Be sure to always use a clean brush when applying a new shade of concealer.

If you prefer fuller coverage, you can use a thin layer of the concealer all over the face (much like you would use a foundation) for a more dramatic evening look that still looks natural. Follow steps 2 & 3 below to complete this look!
The best brush to use for applying Translucent powder is a natural hair, very soft, fluffy powder brush, not as big as a bronzer or blush brush. It should also be super soft since you’ll be applying to sensitive areas, such as under eye. When applying under eye start at the inner corner and go out.

We had a great time working with the staff and students at Mode Gakuen college. We were blown away by both the exterior and interior design of their school locations. “I have never visited a school like Mode Gakuen College”, says Roxanne Rizzo. We have visited many makeup schools throughout the US and Japan, but, Mode Gakuen is in a class by itself. The students of Mode Gakuen are very fortunate to have this type of learning environment available to them, we are looking forward to seeing them again in 2009.
